(November 2012) Foundation 4Life® held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the expansion project at the Dona Justa Guido Memorial School just outside of Manila, Philippines. The event attracted over 1,000 students, parents, and teachers and included music and dance performances by the children.
In conjunction with Feed the Children, this new project expanded the current facility to include a two-story building that will house two additional classrooms and new furniture for a group of over 120 first grade students. This group of students also received a backpack with school supplies. Following the celebration, 200 children also enjoyed 4Life Fortify® and will do so on an ongoing basis with a 4Life Fortify nutrition program scheduled throughout the year.
School Principal Marilou A. Mondoy: “Thank you for the gift of these new classrooms and nutrition for our most needy children. We will be forever grateful for these investments and we will cherish them for a lifetime.”
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by representatives from Feed the Children including President Kevin Hagan, Vice President, International Steve Whetstone, and Philippines Country Director Esperanza Abellana. 4Life International Diamonds in attendance included Evelyn Tactac, Frank Uy Tesy, and Romer Alumno. 4Life corporate representatives included Vice President, International Steve Apple, Foundation 4Life Director Tracie Kay, and Foundation 4Life Coordinator Jenna Lisonbee. 4Life Philippines General Manager Eileen Tan, along with several employees from her office, were also present.
