(May 2016) On April 16, an earthquake hit the city of Kumamoto, Japan, with aftershocks felt throughout the region. The earthquakes killed at least 49 people and injured about 3,000 people.
In May, 4Life® Japan sponsored a fundraiser to help earthquake victims. The fundraiser amount was matched by Foundation 4Life®, for a total of $150,000 yen. During a 4Life Japan 15-year anniversary event, President and CEO Steve Tew presented the donation check to a Red Cross® representative to support relief efforts. Providing support in such situations is an important part of the Foundation 4Life® mission to build people, families, and communities wherever 4Life conducts business.
